Hailed as the ‘Queen of Bollywood’, Madhuri is one of the most acclaimed actresses and dancers of all time in the country. She is also a producer and TV personality who had aspired to become a microbiologist but within six months opted out and decided to pursue her Bollywood career.
She is known for beauty, dancing skills, and strong characters but her early career was shaped up mostly by roles in romantic movies before she became one of the most popular lead actresses in the industry.
Though she debuted with ‘Abodh’ in 1984, it's with ‘Tezaab’, opposite Anil Kapoor, where she started garnering fame and popularity. She earned her first nomination of ‘Filmfare Best Actress’ with this movie and it was also the highest grossing film in that year.
Her performance in ‘Ek Do Teen’ made every heart groove to the beats of the song. During this time, Madhuri also got featured on Debonair and she was also featured as the cover girl on 1986 Filmfare edition.
Some of her other successful films during this period include ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Tridev’ , Saajan, Raja , Khalnayak and many more.
After a long break post her marriage, she starred in the musical ‘Aaja Nachle’ in 2007 which was considered her comeback and got a lot of appreciation from the audience for her performance.
In addition to acting in films, Dixit has participated in several stage shows and has engaged in philanthropic activities too.
She is also the co-founder of the production company RnM Moving Pictures and recently made her debut on the OTT with the thrilling show titled ‘The Fame Game’.

Madhuri has been featured in ‘Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list’ since 2012.
Her accolades include six Filmfare Awards from a record 17 nominations. In 2008, the Government of India awarded her with ‘Padma Shri’, the fourth highest civilian honour of the country.
In 2014 she was appointed the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in India. She also engages in saving animals and helps secure futures of the underprivileged.
She’s also set to conquer the e-generation with her online dance academy and dedicated smartphone app ‘Dance with Madhuri’.
